The Helios Apollo Award
The Apollo Awards program recognizes employers in the Washington metropolitan region that invest in innovative employee-development initiatives. High Performance Technologies, Inc. was announced as the 2011 Mid-sized Business Winner. HPTi was chosen thanks to unique programs that enable career growth, offer a wide-range of education opportunities, and give employees a voice in the company's culture. In particular, HPTi's dedication to leadership development was highlighted.
The Best Places to Work in Virginia Award
The Best Places to Work in Virginia is a survey and award program designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Virginia, benefiting the state's economy, its work force, and businesses. The Best Places to Work in Virginia list is made up of a total of 50 companies, split into three groups: small, mid-sized, and large employers. HPTi is honored to be a 2011 Best Place to Work in Virginia in their large employers (more than 250 employees) category.
The American Business Ethics Award
The American Business Ethics Award (ABEA) recognizes companies that exemplify high standards of ethical behavior in their everyday business conduct. Entries are judged by a distinguished, independent panel who represent the business, academic, public service, and consulting communities. HPTi is honored to be the 2009 American Business Ethics Award recipient in the mid-sized company category.
The U.S. Senate Productivity and Quality Award for Virginia (SPQA)
This award recognizes organizations that demonstrate superior performance in business practices. HPTi is a three-time recipient of the Plaque for Progress in Performance Excellence (2006-2008). In 2007 and 2008, HPTi was the only firm in the commonwealth to achieve the Plaque level, and HPTi was the highest-rated firm both years. In 2009, HPTi attained the Medallion of Performance Excellence, the program's highest honor.
The Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards
The GovCon awards honor the region's innovative and trailblazing firms, industry heavyweights, and long-term pillars of the government contracting industry. In 2007, HPTi President, Tim Keenan, won Executive of the Year. In 2009, after two consecutive years as finalist, HPTi was honored to be named Government Contractor of the Year.
Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®) Maturity Level 3
HPTi's Secure Software Solutions (S3) Practice has been assessed at CMMI Maturity Level 3. The CMMI is an industry best-practices model for Project and Engineering Management established by Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute in collaboration with government and industry experts. This Level 3 rating indicates that HPTi's software processes are defined and institutionalized across the organization.
A Top-Ten Privately Held Growth Firm
Private Company Index (PCI) named HPTI as a PCI/Gazelle firm for the first time in 2007. The PCI/Gazelles—a subset of firms tracked within the PCI portfolio—recognizes the top ten privately held growth firms, as measured by percent change in revenue from year to year. Being named to this subset is the private company equivalent of being tracked on the S&P 500. In 2009, HPTi was again recognized as a top ten growth firm for both Q3 and Q4.
National Capital Business Ethics Award
This prestigious designation is given to firms "which exemplify a strong commitment to business excellence and to the highest standards of civic and social responsibility, integrity, and ethical conduct." The award is presented by the Society of Financial Service Professionals in partnership with George Mason University. HPTi's adherence to its core values has earned it an annual berth on the list of semifinalists and finalists. HPTi was named NCBEA winner in 2008.
American Business Awards—The Stevies
HPTi has won Best Technical Professional, Best Executive, Best Support Staffer, and most recently, Best Overall Company for the prestigious American Business Award. HPTi was also named finalist for Best Community Service Committee. HPTi employees have been up for Best Finance Executive, Best Human Resources Executive, Best Corporate Communicator, and Best Customer Service Executive. The American Business Awards are the only national, all-encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business.
Top 50 Technology Employer
Since 2006, HPTi has appeared on Washington Business Journal's list of the Top 50 Technology Employers in the D.C. area. HPTi's sustained growth moved the firm move up on the list every year.

Awarded to HPTi every year since 2007, the CARE Awards recognize outstanding companies that provide family-friendly workplace policies and benefits. The CARE Awards are presented by Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS).
