Systems Architecture
Systems architecture is obtained through a structured dialog within an organization to establish a shared understanding of how the most important needs are successfully translated into requirements. Architecture describes the fundamental organization of a system using artifacts to describe mission needs and their impact on the organization—fully characterizing a system's visible qualities as a series of components with precise responsibilities, interfaces, and relationships. HPTi takes the architecture process one step further by engaging clients in the social interaction needed to move from "What do you mean? " to "Now, I get it! " Once clients reach this point, accurate, reliable, and meaningful requirements can successfully drive a system's design to meet mission needs.
Risk Management
All projects have inherent risk. How a manager deals with those risks determines the success of his or her project. HPTi personnel specialize in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks for our clients.
Security
The security of systems, the information on those systems, and the identities of our clients is of the upmost importance to HPTi. For the DOJ, we research, design, develop, test, and implement a security architecture and PKI solution that encompasses and accommodates each of the 39 components of DOJ. For clients like the Treasury, we ensure that only the proper people are transferring funds.
Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) and Program Evaluation
HPTi's IV&V services are commonly used by our government clients to ensure that high-quality systems are built to address their specific requirements. When a soldier fires a round from a Paladin (a mobile artillery piece), it needs to hit the intended target. HPTi specialists review and assist on all types of programs, including large weapon systems for the DoD.
Certification and Accreditation (C&A)
The federal government requires extensive evaluation and testing of new systems. HPTi works with our clients to certify that they meet the strict requirements. Given the life- and death-consequences of the programs our clients operate, a strong, accredited approach is a necessity.
